NEW - Run 101 Group
Fal 2010 group is meeting Wednesday mornings at White Rock Lake with the goal to run in October 23's 5K Walk, Wag & Run. Slowly build your endurance from walking to running.
FREE Fitness/Fitlinxx Orientation (Fitlinxx.com) Available for members 14 years and older. Make an appointment at the Welcome Center with a member of our Fitness Staff to learn exercises that will help you achieve your fitness goals. Learn how to use Fitlinxx, your interactive partner. Fitlinxx is a computerized fitness network that tracks exercise results on the weight machines. These results give members motivating feedback on their progress while providing their training coach with information to identify when assistance is needed. The free orientation includes instruction on all machines, use of Fitlinxx, form, range of motion and rate of motion.

FREE KidFit Activities - Kids get a workout while parents are in the fitness center. KidFit allows kids to have fun playing active games that encourage increased coordination. Available for ages 5-12, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 - 11:30am during the summer dates of June 7 - August 20.
FREE Youth Weight Program - The Program is available for 12-13 year olds to learn how to use the cardio and strength training equipment in a safe and proper manner. The program requires one 1-hour session with a member of our Fitness Staff. Make an appointment at the Welcome Center. The program will include instruction on the basic concepts of muscle groups and gym etiquette. Upon completion the youth will be allowed to checkout an ID badge indicating successful completion of the orientation, use of designated equipment. Parent or parents must be present when the youth is utilizing the fitness equipment.
FREE Youth Fit & Fun - A fun fitness class designed for 6 – 12 year old boys and girls. The class is scheduled on Mondays from 5 pm – 6 pm in the field house. This class incorporates wellness and fitness principles into games and activities. Each month there will be a different wellness / fitness principle learned (nutrition, target heart rate, agility, etc) as the boys and girls play. This class is free with a family membership. The parent or guardian must remain at the YMCA while the child participates in the class. Class begins Monday, September 14, 2009.
FREE Family Fitness Program - Available for families with children 10-11 years of age. It includes 2 appointments with a personal fitness instructor who will review recommended exercise guidelines, review target heart rate range, set up each family member on the Life Fitness weight machines & cardio equipment. Each family member will also be shown and have access to a circuit training program available in the warehouse.

Personal Training - As a member of the YMCA at White Rock, you have the benefit of working with a friendly, knowledgeable and qualified personal trainer. Our objective is to create a partnership with you to set realistic achievable goals, and to design a program that will allow you to attain them. You will receive the most current and safest fitness training methods, along with the motivation you need to maximize your exercise time and achieve your personal best! Sessions are priced per hour. Fitness Assessment - A certified personal trainer can provide a variety of assessments ranging from body composition to strength and endurance testing. Appointment required. (Body composition testing is free of charge.) Fitness Evaluation is $35.00.
